Best Barefoot Sandals for Women (Stylish & Everyday Wear)
Most women’s sandals are made to look pretty first and fit your feet second. Narrow straps, tapered fronts, stiff soles, and raised heels may look elegant, but they rarely give your toes the space and movement they need.
This guide is for women looking for barefoot sandals that still feel stylish enough for everyday wear, holidays, summer outfits, and casual dressier moments.
We tested these sandals ourselves, on different foot shapes and widths, and focused on the details that matter in real life: toe box shape, strap placement, sole flexibility, adjustability, comfort, materials, and whether they actually stay secure on your feet.
If you’re new to barefoot sandals, start with our Beginner’s Guide to Barefoot Sandals and check your foot width with our Foot Width Quiz before choosing. If you’re looking for something sportier or more secure for long walks, water, or hiking, check our guide to multi-sport barefoot sandals.
Update (June 2026): This review was updated with new brands added, including Xero Shoes, Fleeters, and Wyde, along with refreshed notes on existing favorites and added details about new models, colors, and fit where relevant.
Top Picks: The Best Barefoot Sandals Women Love for Everyday Wear
Lang.S

Use BULANGS for 15% discount
- Style: Minimal, feminine sandals, from very open designs to more classic styles
- Upper: Leather or vegan options, depending on the model
- Footbed: Leather or microfiber
- Fastening: Velcro or buckle, depending on the model
- Fit: Best for medium-width feet, but can also work for narrow to medium-wide feet; Gaia and Soul are best for low to average insteps
Lang.S offers several different styles of women’s barefoot sandals, from open, barely-there designs to more classic leather styles. The models we tested have a soft, flexible sole with just the right amount of squish underfoot, so they feel comfortable for longer wear without losing that light barefoot feel.
They are also some of my most-worn sandals, especially when I want something quick and easy to put on in summer. I still have one of the very first pairs I bought years ago, which probably says enough about how often I come back to this brand.
My personal favourite is Soul. It has a beautifully open design that leaves the toes completely free, but still feels secure on the foot and almost like wearing nothing at all. Selene is another great option if you want something simple and elegant, while Hera gives you a more traditional cross-strap look across the toes. Personally, I still prefer their more open-toe sandals like Soul, because they allow better toe movement and feel more secure in real life.
Wyde Footwear

Use BU10 for 15% discount
- Style: Barefoot-inspired Birkenstock-style slides and sandals
- Upper: Sturdy leather
- Footbed/Sole: Thicker zero-drop sole with more cushion; no arch support
- Fastening: Adjustable straps; Maia Strap has an added back strap
- Fit: Best for wide and extra wide feet, but adjustable enough for some medium-width feet
Wyde Maia and Maia Strap are probably the closest barefoot-inspired slides to Birkenstocks we’ve seen so far. They are zero drop, have no arch support, and come in a genuinely wide, foot-shaped fit that can work even for extra wide feet.
The sole is thicker than most sandals in this post, so they don’t feel super minimal, but they are a great option if you want more cushion, more structure, or an easier transition into barefoot sandals. The leather feels sturdy and great quality, and the overall construction has a more substantial feel than many thinner barefoot styles.
They are best suited for wide and extra wide feet, but I can also adjust them well on my medium-width feet. Even the Maia slide without a back strap stays surprisingly well on the foot without much sliding, which is not always the case with slip-on sandals. Maia Strap gives you extra security with the back strap, so I’d choose that version if you want a more stable fit for longer walks.
Wildling Shoes

Use BU for 5€ ($10) discount
- Style: Airy closed-toe barefoot sandal with a shoe-like feel
- Upper: Lightweight breathable textile
- Footbed/Sole: Super thin, flexible sole with excellent ground feel
- Fastening: Velcro closure
- Fit: Best for narrow to medium-width feet; size up, as they run short
Wildling Feder is one of the most unique barefoot sandals we’ve tested. It looks more like an airy shoe than a typical sandal, which makes it a great option if you want the breathability of a sandal but the secure feel of a closed shoe.
The sole is super thin and flexible, so this is a great choice if you love maximum ground feel. They feel light, soft, and comfortable for everyday walking, especially in warm weather when you want airflow but still want your foot to feel covered and secure. At first, the design can look a little unusual, but once you put them on, it makes sense.
They are ideal for daily walks, travel, errands, and relaxed summer wear, offering a comfortable and easy-to-style option. We’ve also washed them in the machine, although this is not officially recommended, and they can shrink slightly. We usually flatten and reshape them again after washing.
Fit-wise, Feder works best for narrow and medium-width feet. We recommend sizing up, as they run short. Also keep in mind that with heavy use, the velcro can wear out over time, and the insole may start sliding forward.
VIVOBAREFOOT

Use BU25 for 25% discount
- Style: Minimal, casual barefoot sandals with clean lines; more casual and outdoor-friendly than dressy
- Upper: Leather, depending on the model
- Footbed/Sole: Thin, flexible sole with a slightly molded shape
- Fastening: Velcro straps; Sensus Yin has adjustable ankle and heel straps, while Sensus Yin Slide has an adjustable front strap
- Fit: Best for narrow to medium-width feet with a stronger toe slope
VIVOBAREFOOT sandals lean more casual than dressy, but they are a good option if you want a thin, flexible sole with a bit more structure underfoot. We tested both the Sensus Yin and Sensus Yin Slide. The sole is thin and flexible, but not overly floppy, so they still feel stable when walking.
One thing to keep in mind is the molded shape of the sole. The sides curve upward slightly, which can feel a bit restrictive if you prefer a flatter, more open barefoot sandal feel.
The Sensus Yin has a fixed front strap, so it works best for narrow to medium-width feet and a foot shape with a stronger slope toward the pinky toe. The ankle and heel straps adjust easily with velcro, so you can fine-tune the fit around the back of the foot.
The Sensus Yin Slide surprised us the most. Even without a back strap, it feels more secure than expected, and the velcro strap gives you more adjustability than many slide-style sandals. It works best for narrower feet and can be a nice barefoot Birkenstock alternative if the shape matches your foot. I just wish it came in more widths, because that would allow more people to enjoy this style.
VIVO also released the Tracker Ora, and this one was an amazing discovery for us. It is featured in our roundup of barefoot hiking and outdoor sandals, but it feels secure, pleasant to walk in, and easy to put on.
Mukishoes

Use UNIVERSEMUKI for 10% discount
- Style: Minimal, natural-looking sandals with Ibiza and Birkenstock-style Nazare options
- Upper: Leather
- Footbed/Sole: Flexible sole on a wider base than many other Mukishoes models
- Fastening: Buckle closure
- Fit: Best for narrow to medium-wide feet; Ibiza’s ankle strap is best for slim to average ankles
Mukishoes has two main barefoot sandal models we’ve tested: Ibiza and Nazare. Both have that simple, natural Mukishoes look, but they feel slightly different in real life. Ibiza has a smooth black leather upper with a toe loop and broad ankle strap, while Nazare has a two-strap design that gives subtle barefoot Birkenstock Arizona vibes, but in a fully barefoot-friendly version.
The wider sole shape makes them more generous than many other Mukishoes models, so they can also work for medium-wide feet. Ibiza feels clean and minimal, but the ankle strap may not be the best choice if you have wider ankles. Nazare is the softer, more relaxed option. The leather feels very soft and comfortable on the foot, but it is also quite thin and more sensitive, so it can get dirty more easily or develop a worn look faster.
For this year, Nazare also comes in smooth black leather, which might be a better choice if you want something lower maintenance, but we haven’t tested that version yet. Mukishoes also added a new sandal style, Ericeira, with a criss-cross design across the foot, which we haven’t tested yet either.
Feelgrounds

Use BU15 for 15% discount
- Style: Minimalist, modern, and easy to pair with anything
- Upper: Cotton or faux leather
- Footbed: Cork or microfiber suede
- Fastening: Velcro strap
- Fit: Generous enough for wide and extra wide feet, but can also work surprisingly well for narrow feet with low to average instep height
The Feelgrounds Seaside is one of our most-worn barefoot sandals for women. It has a clean, casual look, a secure velcro closure, and enough everyday style to wear without feeling too sporty.
You can choose between two footbed options: cork or microfiber suede. Cork gives a natural, breathable feel but may darken with wear, especially if exposed to moisture. It also makes the sandals feel more compact and slightly firmer, meaning they’re less flexible to roll up, but still very comfortable underfoot. The sole strikes a nice balance between firmness and softness. You won’t feel every pebble beneath you, so they’re a good choice if you want a bit of cushion without sacrificing ground connection.
Although the shape is generous enough for wide and extra wide feet, Tjaša (with extra narrow feet) also wears them comfortably. Just make sure to check the printable template before ordering, and pay attention to the toe post placement, especially if you have longer toes.
Groundies

- Style: Casual to dressier leather barefoot sandals
- Upper: Leather
- Footbed/Sole: Thin, firmer sole
- Fastening: Mostly fixed straps; Corfu has elasticated straps
- Fit: Best for narrow feet with average volume; limited adjustability, so the sandal needs to match your foot shape well
Groundies offers several barefoot sandal styles, from casual everyday designs to more polished options. Visually, they are some of the more refined-looking sandals, but the fit is quite specific and not as forgiving as brands with more adjustable straps.
We tested Verona in black and Corfu in grey. Both styles need to match your foot shape well because the straps are not fully adjustable. Corfu has elasticated straps, which gives a little more flexibility, but it still does not allow the same fine-tuning as velcro or buckle-adjustable sandals.
They didn’t work well for my medium-width feet. The toe area felt too narrow, and the sandals didn’t hold my foot securely enough around the instep. Tjaša (on the photo), who has narrow feet with average instep volume, had a much better fit in both models.
The leather quality feels average compared to some of the more premium leather sandals in this list, and while the soles are thin, they are on the firmer side. Overall, I’d recommend Groundies sandals mostly for narrow feet with average volume, especially if your foot shape matches the fixed strap placement well.
Zeazoo

Use BU10 for 10% discount
- Style: Soft leather barefoot sandals with everyday and dressier options
- Upper: Smooth leather, including metallic options
- Footbed/Sole: Leather footbed with Vibram sole
- Fastening: Buckle or velcro, depending on the model
- Fit: Best for narrow and medium-width feet; customizable fit when ordered directly from the brand
Zeazoo sandals are one of our personal go-tos, especially the Siren and Freya models. Their leather is incredibly soft and molds beautifully to the foot, making them ideal for both daily wear and dressier occasions. Available in a wide range of colors, including gold and other metallic finishes, they’re perfect if you’re looking for something eye-catching or event-ready.
What really makes Zeazoo stand out is their Vibram sole. This is our personal favorite for everyday barefoot sandals. It offers just the right amount of softness and squishiness underfoot without feeling unstable or overly cushioned. Walking in them feels smooth, grounded, and comfortable.
These sandals are best suited for narrow and medium-width feet, and if you order from their official website, you can even customize key fit details. We always choose to adjust the strap circumference across the toes and the ankle strap length to get that perfect personalized fit.
Froddo

- Style: Simple leather barefoot sandals with a casual everyday look
- Upper: Leather
- Footbed/Sole: Leather footbed with Vibram sole
- Fastening: Velcro or buckle
- Fit: Great for narrow and medium-width feet; up to size EU 42
Froddo women’s barefoot sandals are a budget-friendly option that still delivers on quality and comfort. They offer two styles: one with a toe loop and one with a cross strap over the toes. Both are made from soft leather and sit on the Vibram sole, the same flexible, lightly cushioned sole used in Zeazoo sandals.
The toe loop model has a slightly unusual strap position that may feel awkward at first, but improves with wear. The cross strap version is a consistent favorite. My daughter has worn hers two years in a row with no complaints.
These sandals fit narrow and medium-width feet well, though sizing is limited to EU 42 max, so they may not work for women with longer feet.
Xero Shoes

- Style: Sporty barefoot sandals that can work with casual everyday outfits
- Upper: Thin synthetic or leather straps, depending on the model
- Footbed/Sole: Thin, flexible sole with a sportier feel
- Fastening: Slip-on toe-post style for Genesis Leather; adjustable Z-straps for Z-Trek
- Fit: Best for narrow to medium-width feet; use the printable template to check toe shape and strap placement
Xero Shoes are usually known for sportier barefoot sandals, but some of their styles can still work well with casual everyday outfits. They are not dressy sandals, but if you like a more relaxed or slightly sporty look, Genesis Leather and Z-Trek are the two styles I’d look at first.
Both have a thin, flexible sole that feels great for walking, but the shape around the toes is not the most foot-shaped option on this list. I strongly recommend checking their printable templates before ordering to see if the sole shape works for your feet.
Genesis Leather is super easy to slip on, which makes it a great grab-and-go summer sandal. The straps are thin, but they don’t dig uncomfortably between the toes. They adjust well for low and average foot volume, but the strap length may not be enough for higher-volume feet.
Z-Trek has a sportier Z-strap design and feels easy to adjust around the foot. The leopard print version adds a little more attitude, so it’s a fun option if you want something casual, sporty, and less plain than a typical minimalist sandal.
Fleeters

Use BU10 for 10% discount
- Style: Roomy leather barefoot sandals with a wider, more substantial look
- Upper: Leather
- Footbed/Sole: Thicker, flexible sole with a soft, foamy feel
- Fastening: Velcro straps; Coconut is a slide without a back strap
- Fit: Best for wide and extra wide feet, especially higher-volume feet, wider midfeet, and wider ankles
Fleeters sandals are a great option if you need a wider, roomier barefoot sandal with a little more softness underfoot. We tested Papaya, Palma, and Coconut, and all three are built on their newer, wider sole, which feels noticeably roomier than their sneakers.
The sole is a bit thicker with a soft, foamy feel, but it still stays flexible enough for natural movement. This makes them a nice choice for beginners or anyone who wants more cushion than a super-thin barefoot sandal. The overall fit is best for wide and extra wide feet, especially if you also have more volume through the midfoot, instep, and ankles.
I can adjust them well enough on my medium-width feet, but they fit better on wider, higher-volume feet. Even when I tighten the straps as much as possible, I still get some gapping around the back of the sandal. So while they feel soft and comfortable to wear, they are not the sleekest sandals on this list. They have a wider, more substantial look on the foot, which is great for space and comfort, but less ideal if you want something delicate or minimal.
Papaya and Palma give you more secure strap coverage, while Coconut is the easy slip-on option without a back strap. I see Coconut more as a compromise sandal for people who want a wide toe box and quick on-off comfort, but still prefer something roomier than most slides. All three are made from leather and are easy to adjust with velcro straps.
Proalp

Use BU5 for 5% discount
- Style: Leather barefoot sandal with a sporty-meets-elegant look
- Upper: Leather, customizable in different colors
- Footbed/Sole: Leather footbed with a firm sole and minimal cushioning
- Fastening: Adjustable toe loop and front strap; instep strap can be customized when ordering
- Fit: Available in narrow, wide, and widest-plus. Narrow and wide use the same sole with different strap lengths, while widest-plus has a wider sole for extra wide feet.
Proalp Contact Terra stands out as one of the most adjustable leather barefoot sandals on this list. It blends sporty functionality with a clean, feminine look that pairs well with summer outfits.
The toe loop and front strap can both be slid to fine-tune the fit. While the instep strap is fixed in appearance, Proalp will customize it for your foot volume if you provide your instep circumference when ordering – a rare and incredibly useful feature.
We tested both the wide version (gold) and the widest-plus version (black). The wide works well for medium-width feet, while the widest-plus is ideal for extra wide feet that rarely find stylish options. The sole is firm, lightly cushioned, and flexible enough for everyday wear, but I do wish it felt a little softer underfoot and had at least some tread on the bottom, as it can feel slippery on smooth wet surfaces.
These are some of the most adaptable leather barefoot sandals available – just be sure to choose the right width for your feet.
Softstar Shoes

- Style: Barefoot take on the classic two-strap sandal look
- Upper: Thick, structured leather with large buckles
- Footbed/Sole: Suede leather footbed; zero-drop sole available in two thicknesses
- Fastening: Fully adjustable buckles on two front straps and heel strap
- Fit: Best for narrow to medium-width feet, up to medium-wide; slightly tapered around the big toe
The Softstar Camino is a barefoot-friendly twist on the classic two-strap sandal, with a wide base, adjustable buckles, and a heel strap for extra security. The leather feels thick and structured at first, so it needs a little time to soften and mould to your foot, but it also feels like the kind of sandal that will last for years.
It comes in two sole thicknesses. The thicker footbed feels more foamy and squishy underfoot, which is great if you want extra comfort. Personally, I prefer the thinner version because it moves better with the foot and keeps more of that barefoot feel.
All straps are adjustable, which really helps with fine-tuning the fit. I had to tighten mine a bit to stop my foot from sliding forward, but once dialed in, the fit felt secure and comfortable.
Fit-wise, Camino works best for narrow to medium-width feet, and up to medium-wide depending on your foot shape. The main limitation is the toe box. It does taper slightly around the big toe, so it is not the most foot-shaped option in that area, and I do wish Softstar would improve this in the future. Make sure there is enough length so your big toe stays fully supported on the sole.
For reference, I wear US size 10 with foot dimensions 26.3 cm long and 10 cm wide. They are definitely an investment, but if the shape works for your feet, the materials and construction feel made to last.
Saguaro

Use BU20 for 20% discount (new costumers)
Use BU15 for 15% discount (existing customers)
- Style: Simple, affordable barefoot sandals with a dressier metallic look
- Upper: Faux leather, available in silver or gold
- Footbed/Sole: PU footbed; available with an extra-thin sole or a softer foamy footbed
- Fastening: Velcro closure
- Fit: Best for narrow to medium-wide feet; very secure on the foot
The Saguaro Glow I are the most affordable barefoot sandals for women on this list, but don’t let the price fool you. These sandals feel incredibly secure on the foot, more so than many higher-end options we’ve tested. They’re available in two sole versions: one ultra-thin, and one with a slightly cushioned foamy footbed for a bit more comfort on hard ground.
Made from faux leather, the upper has a slight plasticky appearance, but the overall fit is excellent. The straps hug the foot well, offering a very stable, secure feel while walking. This is ideal if you often find sandals too loose or unstable.
That said, the plastic material underfoot can feel a bit irritating on hot days during extended wear, especially if your skin is sensitive. Still, for the price, the comfort and secure fit make Glow I a standout.
Best suited for narrow to medium-wide feet, these sandals are a solid pick for both beginners and budget-conscious barefoot enthusiasts.
Juuri

Use BU5 for 5% discount
- Style: Customizable tie-up barefoot sandals with multiple styling options
- Upper: Interchangeable laces in viscose, linen, or leather
- Footbed/Sole: Leather or vegan footbed with a thin Vibram sole
- Fastening: 5-point lacing system with interchangeable straps
- Fit: Best for medium to medium-wide feet with a gentle toe slope; use the sizing template to check toe strap placement
Juuri sandals are a good option if you like very minimal barefoot sandals but still want them to feel customizable and a bit more styled. The whole idea is built around their 5-point tying system, different buckle or ring setups, and interchangeable laces, so you can change the look of one pair instead of buying several different sandals.
They are available with vegan or leather footbeds and use a thin Vibram sole with excellent ground feel. The laces come in viscose, linen, and leather, with base colors included, and additional colors sold separately.
The tying system takes a little more attention than a simple velcro sandal, but once you find your preferred setup, it becomes much easier. I wouldn’t choose them for the fastest grab-and-go option, but I like them when I want something minimal that can still look a bit different depending on the outfit.
The toe box shape suits a gentler slope toward the pinky toe, making them a good match for many foot types. However, the toe strap placement affects the final foot position, so we strongly recommend using their printable sizing template before ordering.
Juuri sandals work best for medium and medium-wide feet. Some extra width can be gained by sizing up, though the slight taper at the toe can limit space for especially wide feet.
Shapen

Use BOSENOGICE5 for 5% discount
- Style: The most elegant leather barefoot sandals on the list, ideal for formal wear
- Style: Elegant barefoot sandals for dressier outfits and formal wear
- Upper: Leather
- Footbed/Sole: Thin, firm sole with light feedback underfoot
- Fastening: Buckle or velcro, depending on the model
- Fit: Best for medium and wide feet; smaller sizes usually have a better toe box shape than larger sizes
Shapen is one of the first brands I’d look at if you need women’s barefoot sandals for a wedding, party, or a more polished summer outfit. They offer more dressy barefoot sandal styles than most brands, with feminine designs that work well with dresses and special-occasion looks.
They are not my top choice for everyday wear, though. The leather doesn’t feel as premium as some other brands in this list, and in larger sizes, the toe box shape can taper too much around the big toe. I really hope Shapen improves this in the future, because their designs are some of the prettiest in the barefoot world.
The sole is thin, firm, and flexible enough for dressier wear, but still feels more structured than super-soft minimalist sandals. Shapen sandals work best for medium and wide feet, especially in smaller sizes where the toe box shape is usually better. If you have a pronounced big toe or a wider forefoot, check the shape carefully before ordering.
My personal favourite from their open-toe sandals is Jasmine. And for special occasions, I often reach for Shapen Poppy from their dressier closed-toe styles, because it gives that elegant look without going back to conventional narrow shoes.
Final Thoughts
The best barefoot sandals for women are not just the ones that look the prettiest. They also need to match your foot shape, stay secure when you walk, and feel comfortable for the way you actually use them. Some are better for dressier outfits, some for everyday comfort, and others for longer walks or summer travel. Before choosing, always check the sole shape, strap placement, and width, because even the prettiest barefoot sandal won’t feel good if your toes don’t have enough space or your foot keeps sliding forward.
